WHERE IS THE MEETING POINT?
The meeting point is Piazza San Lorenzo, right in front of the Basilica of San Lorenzo (with the brown stone facade). The Basilica of San Lorenzo is not the Duomo. The church facade is opposite the entrance to the Medici Chapels. Guides will be in the square 15 minutes before the tour starts, holding a red flag. Piazza San Lorenzo is a 5-minute walk from the Duomo and a 15-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella station. There may be multiple guides with RED FLAGS; show your booking ticket to any of them.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR CHECK-IN?
Be in Piazza San Lorenzo 15 minutes before the tour starts for check-in and registration. The tour will begin promptly at the booked time.
The tour start time is written on your ticket. Check the email you received to confirm your booking
WHAT IF I ARRIVE LATE (LESS THAN 10 MINUTES)?
The tour will start promptly at the indicated time. Guides will stay about 5/10 minutes in Piazza San Lorenzo for the introduction. If you arrive a few minutes late, find the guides with red flags and ask to join the tour and check-in.
WHAT IF I AM MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE?
If you are more than 10 minutes late, you can join the WhatsApp group linked below (AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE the tour starts, otherwise you won’t see the posts).
The guide will share their real-time location in the group. Remember, this is a public group and anyone in the group can see your phone number.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE TOUR?
This tour is donation-based. No payment is required as the costs are entirely covered by our guides, who invest part of their earnings upfront to cover tour organization expenses. On some platforms, a small booking fee is required. The only payment the guide receives is what you decide to donate. We hope that those who are financially able will contribute more, allowing those with less means to participate as well. Our guides are official guides of Florence and are officially authorized to work in Florence. We ask you to consider this and choose a fair and dignified compensation for a high-quality service.
WHAT PART OF FLORENCE WILL I VISIT?
Our tour covers the most interesting artistic and historical areas of Florence, from the Basilica of San Lorenzo to Piazza Signoria.
WHERE WILL THE TOUR END?
The tour will end in the Piazza Signoria area, near the Uffizi museum.
WILL WE ENTER ANY MUSEUMS?
This is an outdoor tour in Florence and does not include entry to museums or paid locations.
IS THERE A SPECIFIC DRESS CODE?
No specific dress code is required, just be respectful of others and the city.
WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
In Florence, all parking is paid, and white parking spaces are reserved for residents. It is difficult to drive in Florence as the historic center is closed to non-resident traffic and monitored by cameras. We suggest parking outside the city in parking lots connected to the historic center by a fast tram line. These parking lots are Villa Costanza and Peretola. In both cases, it takes about 40 minutes by tram to reach the city center, and the ticket costs 1.70 euros. The closest paid parking to the historic center is the Fortezza parking lot, about a 25-minute walk from our meeting point.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Pets are allowed on our tour as long as they do not disturb other participants and are comfortable in an urban environment.
DO THE GUIDES HAVE A LICENSE?
Yes, all our guides are professional and have a regular license to work in Florence. They will wear their license visibly around their neck during the tour.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
The tour will take place even in case of rain. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket or an umbrella. You can buy umbrellas at many stores in Florence, with prices ranging from 5 to 10 euros. The cheapest store is behind the Basilica of San Lorenzo and is called Tutto a 99 Cent, with a yellow sign, where you can find small umbrellas for 2 euros (opening hours)
WHAT IF I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND THE TOUR?
If you cannot attend the tour, please cancel your booking through the platform you used to book (e.g., Guruwalk, Freetour, Viator, Booking). We pay commissions on each received booking. You will find all the information on how to cancel your booking in the email received at the time of booking.
HOW LONG IS THE TOUR? IS IT SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE
The tour lasts about two hours and covers a distance of around 1.5 kilometers. It is an easy walk suitable for everyone, including children and people with limited mobility.
CAN I PAY BY CARD?
Many of our guides accept electronic payments. If your tour guide has this system, you can pay by card by asking at the start of the tour. Otherwise, there are several ATMs in the city where you can withdraw money for the payment.
HOW TO CONTACT THE GUIDE?
Guides cannot answer the phone. But you can write us a message on whatsapp for specific questions and we will respond as soon as possible (generally within 12 hours)
